Summary:
Cardiac Monitor Technicians are responsible for watching patients' heart rates and reporting important changes to the nursing staff; they will often use equipment that tracks several patients simultaneously. The Cardiac Monitor Technicians will observe the screen of the cardiac monitor and listen for alarms to identify abnormal variation in heart rhythm. They will need to be team players, take direction well, and have a positive attitude to work with the patients, nursing staff and physicians they will interact with on a daily basis. Techs will also need organizational skills and the ability to multi-task to keep track of a large number of patients.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
CPR Certification preferred.
Successful completion of Coronary Care Module I required within orientation period.
Specialized training in telemetry equipment required within orientation period.
Experience in basic arrhythmia recognition preferred.
